The midi is the most useful length in a modern wardrobe — long enough for a wedding brunch, short enough for a city evening, and easy to read as considered rather than dressed up. Ours sit between the knee and the ankle, cut so the hem lands at the narrowest part of the calf, which is where the length flatters instead of shortening the leg.

Where the midi works
A midi carries a full day: a lunch, a gallery, a dinner afterwards with nothing changed but the shoe and the earring. Sculpted midis with structured shoulders suit cocktail hours and birthdays. Softer, fluid midis are better for daytime — brunches, baby showers, office celebrations. For workwear, a column midi under a blazer is the simplest formal answer we know.
Length, shoe and proportion
Length is everything with a midi. A block heel or a pointed flat keeps the proportion clean; a chunky sole shortens it. If you are under 5'4", choose a slimmer skirt and a heel with some height, and keep the hem just below the calf rather than at the ankle. Belted waists help when the cut is fuller. Sleeveless midis layer well under a cropped jacket for cooler evenings.
Fabric and wearability
Most of our midis are cut in crepe or a satin-backed blend that resists creasing, which matters for a length that spends the day sitting. They are lined to the knee, hand-finished at the closures and cut in XS to XXL. Dry clean only, and steam the skirt rather than pressing it flat.
